Entering the 21st century; Kolhapur's industrial tradition was now touching the hundred-year mark. Entrepreneurs here had started to dominate not only the country but the whole world.
The space available today was insufficient to handle the large scale of the business. Considering the inconveniences, and the constant difficulties faced there, some senior and like-minded businessmen suggested a bigger space and following it continuously, today's Five Star MIDC stood up. Industries of all kinds arose, flourished and grew up here. Participation in national economical growth is certainly remarkable.
People who participated in this whole process formed the first governing body of the Manufacturers Association of Kagal-Hatkanangale (MAKH).
