During 2005-06, some senior entrepreneurs and industrialists of Kolhapur, considering the limitations of industrial growth in the available MIDC, demanded the Government of Maharashtra to get a dedicatedly separate and expanded zone for it.
After constant follow-up, the largest five-star MIDC in South-West Maharashtra spread across Kagal and Hatkanangle talukas was planned.
The outcome of these efforts is the Five Star MIDC that stands here today. Manufacturers Association of Kagal-Hatkanangale (MAKH) is successfully carrying out the correspondence & communication work of the Five Star MIDC in an amicable manner.
